Bruins dominate to take Game 2 against Battlefords

The Estevan Bruins are coming home with a 2-0 Canalta Cup semifinal series lead after a 7-2 win in North Battleford.

The Bruins scored early and often in the first 40 minutes, with Tanner Manz scoring the first of his three goals on the night 18 seconds into the game on Battlefords North Stars’ goaltender Taryn Kotchorek. The Bruins led 4-1 after the first and 7-1 after the second.

Arthur Miller scored two for the Bruins, and Kaelan Holt and Michael McChesney rounded out the scoring for Estevan. Jayden Davis had four assists in the game. 

The Bruins were 0-for-9 on the power play, while the North Stars were 2-for-6.

Games 3 and 4 are at Affinity Place Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Game 5, if necessary, is scheduled for Thursday at North Battleford and Saturday would be Game 6 back at Affinity Place.
