The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins got a pair of timely third period goals to edge past the Battlefords North Stars 3-2 at Affinity Place Friday night.
Hayden Guilderson’s power play goal at 4:27 of the third period tied the game at 2-2 and Jake Fletcher’s wristshot that went top corner on North Stars goaltender Taryn Kotchorek at 14:37 of the third was the eventual game winner in one of the most complete games offensively and defensively this season.
Matt Lukacs was strong in the Bruins net stopping 21 of 23 North Stars shots.
Before the game, the Bruins announced they traded defenceman Brendon Mark to the Yorkton Terriers for defenceman Shane Sherban and a draft pick. They then traded Sherban to the Melville Millionaires for future considerations. Friday was the 25-man roster deadline.
The Bruins’ next action is Friday night at home against the Yorkton Terriers.
