Bruins lead Broncos 2-0 after the first period of Game 7

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins lead the Humboldt Broncos 2-0 after the first period in Game 7 of their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League quarter-final series.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins lead the Humboldt Broncos 2-0 after the first period in Game 7 of their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League quarter-final series.

The hometown Bruins came out strong, and had several chances to score in the first few minutes. Will Koop scored 7:40 into the first period to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead, and 19 seconds later, Eddie Gallagher tallied to double the advantage.

The Broncos had the lone power play of the first period a few minutes later, but couldn't convert.

Estevan had a chance to extend the lead late in the frame, but Humboldt goaltender Rayce Ramsay stopped Bruin forward Michael McChesney on a breakaway.

Humboldt outshot the Bruins 13-11 in the first period.

Grant Boldt is in goal for the Bruins.
