Life comes at you fast – just ask the Weyburn Red Wings.
The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins scored three goals in 31 seconds in the first period at Affinity Place en route to a 6-1 win over their Highway 39 rivals Friday night.
Michael McChesney scored two in that span, with a Kaelan Holt goal in-between that chased Weyburn starting goaltender Arik Weersink.
Bumped up to forward due to a Hayden Guilderson game misconduct for a checking from behind minor penalty, Aigne McGeady-Bruce scored in the second period for the Bruins, as did Zach Goberis. Arthur Miller rounded out the Estevan scoring, as the team was outshot 35-30. Matt Lukacs stopped 34 Weyburn shots, but the goaltending rotation means Bo Didur gets the start between the pipes for the Bruins Saturday in Weyburn for the return match.
