The SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Award was presented to three individuals on November 19, who were nominated by the Weyburn Red Wings for best demonstrating an excellence in volunteerism and community service.
George Kerr has been the main security for the visitors’ hockey teams since 1984, arriving early, before the game for warm ups and staying afterwards, waiting until the team departs. He also volunteers to help out with Red Wings functions.
Curtis and Helen Stepp have been involved with the organization for over 15 years, as former board members, as game day volunteers helping with game day production and recording game stats, and as event volunteers.
