The Bienfait Coalers have forced a fifth and deciding game in their Big Six Hockey League semifinal series with the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings.
Bienfait defeated Yellow Grass 5-3 on Saturday night at the Bienfait Memorial Arena.
Jason Hengen scored the winning goal with 2:25 to play in the third period, and Wyatt Garagan added the insurance marker 61 seconds later.
Dallas Kickley, Preston Erickson and Dylan Herzberg had the Coalers other goals.
Devin Cobbold, Brad Riege and Kyle Myrgold scored for the Wheat Kings.
Game 5 will be played Monday night in Yellow Grass, starting at 8 p.m.
Bienfait defeated Yellow Grass 4-2 in Bienfait on Feb. 26 to open the series, but the Wheat Kings rattled off back-to-back wins on home ice – 5-2 on March 6 and 6-5 in overtime the following night – to take the series lead.
The winner of the Yellow Grass-Bienfait series will face the Carnduff Red Devils in the Big Six final. Carnduff eliminated the 2018 league champions, the Redvers Rockets, on Thursday night, taking the semifinal series in four games.
Carnduff won Game 1 4-1 on Feb. 24, but Redvers responded with a 4-2 victory two nights later. The Red Devils then defeated the Rockets 6-3 on Wednesday night and 4-3 on Thursday.
The Red Devils are also the only Big Six team still in provincial contention. They will face the Wynyard Monarchs in a best-of-three senior C south final, which begins March 10 in Carnduff at 3 p.m.
Game 2 will be March 16 in Wynyard and Game 3 is slated for the following day in Carnduff at 4:30 p.m.
