The Weyburn Comp’s Senior Boys and Senior Girls basketball teams are hosting regional playoffs this weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, in the Eagles gym.
The boys are ranked No. 1 in the province in 4A, and the girls are ranked No. 4. If Weyburn wins regionals, they will advance to HOOPLA, which is the provincial competition in Regina this year from March 23-25.
The boys earned a bye, so will play in the final on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
The girls will be playing in the semi-finals on Friday against Saskatoon Bedford Road at 6:15 p.m. If they win, they will be in the final on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Admission prices per day are $6 for adults, $4 for students in Grades 7-12, and free for any students in Grades 6 and under.
Last year, both Comp teams won silver at provincials, and this year they are both hoping to medal again.
