The Weyburn Comp senior Eagles boys and girls teams both competed in the 5A provincials over the Nov. 18 and 19 weekend.
The Eagles boys team lost 2-0 to Prince Albert St. Mary in their first game. Then they won 2-1 against Saskatoon St. Joseph. They finished off their round robin with a 2-0 victory over the Regina Miller.
Then in the playoff games, Weyburn lost a 2-1 decision against Swift Current, ending their provincial playoff run.
The Eagles girls team opened their provincial tournament with a 2-1 win over Saskatoon St. Joseph and a 2-1 win over Prince Albert Carlton.
They lost 2-0 against Regina Campbell and finished their round robin with a 2-0 loss against Swift Current. In the playoff games, Weyburn won 2-1 against Prince Albert St. Mary, then lost 2-0 in the bronze medal game against Saskatoon St. Joseph, finishing fourth overall at provincials.
Provincial volleyball championships will be held for 1A to 3A schools during Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26.
