Graham DeLaet captured a few birdies over the weekend during the Barracuda Championship.
He finished tied for 29th place. This was his first time back at a PGA Tour tournament in over a month, after he took some time off to address some anxiety issues.
The Barracuda Championship uses a Modified Stableford scoring system, where golfers gain points for scoring a birdie, eagle or albatross, and lose points for a bogey or double bogey (or worse).
During the first round, DeLaet started on the back nine where he shot back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11, a bogey on hole 12, and then birdies on holes 14, 16 and 18. Then on the front nine, DeLaet had a birdie on hole 2, and bogeys on holes 4 and 7.
His round one score was 69, four-under-par, and he scored nine points.
During the second round, DeLaet scored birdies on holes three, six and 11, then had a bogey on hole seven and a double bogey on hole 18. He finished the round at 74, one-over-par, and lost a point.
In the third round, DeLaet scored back-to-back birdies on holes four and five, and then birdies on holes eight and 10. He hit one bogey, on hole 12. His score was 69, three-under-par, and he added seven points to his total.
In the fourth and final round, on the front nine, DeLaet had a birdie on hole two and a bogey on hole three. Then he had three back-to-back birdies on holes four, five and six; and a bogey on hole eight. Then on the back nine, DeLaet had a birdie on hole 10, and bogeys on holes 12 and 15. He finished the round with a birdie on hole 18.
His round four score was 70, two-under-par, which added eight points to his score.
According to DeLaet’s online PGA Tour golfing schedule, he will be competing in the Greenbrier Classic next, which starts on Thursday, July 7 and runs to Sunday, July 10. Then he will compete in the Barbasol Championship, which runs July 14 to 17, and then the RBC Canadian Open will run from July 21 to 24.
