The Fourth Annual Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, July 17 at the Weyburn Golf Club.
"I am pleased to announce that our 2014 tournament will once again feature Weyburn's own Brendon LaBatte of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Brendon will be in attendance at the golf tournament, the fundraising supper, and the Minor Football Clinic. We are very excited that Brendon has agreed to partner with us again for this year's tournament and we are looking forward to building on the success of our previous tournaments," said Michael Hoffman, chairperson of the 2014 WDHF Charity Golf Tournament.
LaBatte said he is looking forward to helping raise funds for the hospital foundation.
"A new hospital for Weyburn and surrounding area is very important and I am happy to be able to lend my name to this very worthy cause. I was very pleased with how smoothly the events of the day ran and I was really impressed to see how supportive the people of Weyburn and area were with this event, raising over $225,000 last year," said LaBatte.
The Weyburn Young Fellows Club will once again be partnering the hospital foundation for this year's tournament and will be preparing the supper for the guests.
"The Young Fellows have been preparing fundraising meals in our city for many years and we are excited to have them as a part of our event this year. At last year's supper they were able to feed 250 people in 14 minutes - it was quite remarkable to see them in action," said Hoffman.
The Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation Inc, incorporated in 2008, is a registered charity focused on raising funds for a new hospital for Weyburn and the surrounding communities. To date through fundraising, donations and commitments from local governments we have raised and identified funds totaling approximately $15.5 million.
