Brent Gedak will play at least one more match at the SaskTel Tankard at home.
Gedak defeated Randy Bryden 6-4 to move to Friday night's match between the winner of Brock Virtue and Jason Jacobson in the 4 p.m. Friday draw.
“We had the right angles today and the guys made some great shots,” said Gedak after Friday's early afternoon draw.
The team played with the lead after stealing two in the fourth end. The team overall curled better than they did Thursday.
“We struggled a little bit with the rocks yesterday,” Gedak said. “Today we got a good set and our coach was doing some scouting and found a set we wanted.”
But overall, the pressure hadn't gotten to them Friday afternoon like it may have Thursday night.
“Just come out every game, one game at a time and play well,” he said of the preparation now. “With our backs against the wall, we can't lose. Any bumps in the road will cause a lot of problems. It's nice to get back on track with a win.”
In the other draw games, Colton Flasch defeated Brady Kendel 4-3 in the A final, Scott Bitz edged Ryan Deis 7-6 and Steve Laycock defeated Adam Casey 8-2.
Josh Heidt plays Carl deConninck Smith and Deis battles Daniel Selke in the two C event games today at 4 p.m.
