The Weyburn Red Wings will host a “Goals for KidSport” night during their home game on Saturday, November 19.
The Red Wings host the Notre Dame Hounds, with the game start at 7:30 p.m.
Each team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League compete for the KidSport Cup, where SaskEnergy donates $20 to KidSport for every home team goal, for the first 1,000 goals. At the end of the season, the SJHL team with the most home goals scored will be presented with the KidSport Cup.
For the November 19 game, SaskEnergy network member Quality Plumbing and Heating will be matching the total goals making each Red Wing goal worth $40 for KidSport.
Currently, among the SJHL, there is a three-way race atop the leaderboard, with the Battlefords, Flin Flon and Estevan all tied with 44 home goals. There has been 411 home goals scored, which means $8,220 has been raised for KidSport to date.
There will also be KidSport raffle tickets available during the Red Wings game on November 19. Tickets cost $5 each, or $20 for five.
First prize is an energy efficiency basket from SaskEnergy, which includes a home heating tune-up and natural gas detector.
