The Weyburn Southern Range Gold Wings have announced their 2017-2018 coaching staff.
Tom Harrison will be the new head coach, and assistant coaches are Jason Hennes and Jerry LaFoy.
Harrison is familiar with the team as he spent most of last season watching the girls play. His 16-year-old daughter Kaitlyn played forward in her first season as a Gold Wing. Harrison had his first chance looking for new players for the 2017-2018 season, during the spring camp which was held in April.
His goal for the team is to focus on the players building towards strength and stamina conditioning.
The 2017-2018 hockey season will start off with a Fall Selection Camp, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 11 and 12 in Weyburn.
Players who were born in 2003 and older are welcome to try out for the Gold Wings. Registration is $80 and can be mailed to Box 171, Weyburn, Sask. Once the roster is picked after fall camp, Harrisons will continue with the team’s conditioning to build up endurance.
The Southern Range Gold Wings are also selling 2017-2018 season tickets. Cost is $60 and includes 14 home games. For more information, interested fans can contact [email protected].
