PGA golfer Graham DeLaet began strongly at the Greenbrier Classic over the weekend, and ended up tied for 20th place after four rounds.
His placing put him in 65th place in the FedEx Cup standings, with year-to-date winnings totaling $1,254,724 after his play at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, in the Greenbrier.
He shot a sizzling 64 six-under-par in his opening round on Thursday, but followed that up on Friday with an even round of 70, going to one over on Saturday with a 71, and ended on Sunday shooting a one under 69, for an overall placing of 20th at -6.
Over the course of the four days of golf, DeLaet shot 14 birdies, 50 pars and eight bogeys, and had an overall driving accuracy of 76.7 per cent.
On his first day, his accuracy was 92.86 per cent, but by the fourth round had dropped to 57.14 per cent. His drives were consistently long, with his longest drives between 331 and 334 yards, and he hit the greens in regulation with an average of 76.3 per cent.
The finish moved him up in the FedEx standings seven places, and he has had five top-10 finishes so far this season.
He will next be on the course in Canada at the RBC Canadian Open in Oakville, Ont., at the iconic Glen Abbey Golf Course from July 27-30. The PGA event has a $6 million purse at stake for the field of golfers.
