The sister duo of Taeghen and Mikayla Hack led their teammates in scoring Feb. 20 and 21, while propelling the girls under-14 Prairie water polo team to the top spot in the U14 Western Championship League.

The Hack sisters were joined by other Estevan Sharks swimmers in six final games on the weekend against tough Regina opponents. After all six matches, the Prairie team won four games and tied two, including the final in a tight 2-2 draw. This successful weekend means the Prairie team qualifies for the U14 National Championship League finals in Surrey, B.C., in April.

The Estevan Sharks also sent members to participate in the U14 boys side of the series, who also faced Regina in six matches over the weekend. While the boys were unable to get a win, they qualified for the tournament in Surrey.

Sharks standout Emily Marshall also participated in a tournament for under-16 girls Feb. 20 and 21, scoring six goals and helping her team to a second-place finish.

Taeghen and Emily then travelled to Edmonton this past weekend to participate in the U16 National Championship League finals. Team Sask finished in top spot in the tournament winning all three games they played, which qualifies the team for the national finals in Surrey next month.
