Carter Doerksen’s first playoff goal since 2015 has given the Hawks a 1-0 lead after the first period against the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins.
Doerksen is a defensive defenceman for the Hawks and their captain and isn’t known for scoring goals but his wristshot through traffic beat Bo Didur for their first goal since late in the second period of Game 5.
Doerksen took the only penalty of the game so far late in the period with a minor for boarding in a play where Arthur Miller went down with an injury.
Shots in the game were 9-8 in favour of the Hawks.
