An incredible season for the Estevan Bruins has seen them come to Game 7 in the SJHL’s Canalta Cup final and come up just a goal short.

The Bruins lost 2-1 to the Hawks Tuesday night at the Centennial Arena in Nipawin as the teams battled for the right to play in the Anavet Cup.

Jake Fletcher scored the Bruins’ only goal, with an assist from Kaelan Holt, to tie the game in the second period. But Josh McDougall scored on a five-on-three power play for the Hawks.

Bo Didur made over 30 saves in the Estevan net. The Bruins were 0-2 on the power play while the Hawks were 1-5.

A furious flurry of action on top of the Nipawin goaltender wasn't able to crack Declan Hobbs, the SJHL's co-goaltender of the year.

The Hawks will play the Steinbach Pistons starting Friday in Steinbach to see who will represent the MJHL and SJHL in the Royal Bank Cup this May in Chilliwack.
