Estevan golfers enjoyed a good start at the RE/Max Blue Chip Realty Classic, which is Estevan’s stop on the Maple Leaf Junior Tour.
Jace Carlisle shot a 3-under-par 69 in the first round of the event Thursday at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course. He is tied for the overall lead, and the lead in the junior boys division, with Josh Nagy of Saskatoon. Will Blake of Regina, competing in the juvenile boys division, also had a 69 in the first round.
As for the other local golfers, Chase Gedak is third in junior boys with a 72, while Logan Chernoff (74) is fifth, Jayden Dudas (75) is tied for seventh, Drew Fenwick (78) is tied for 10th and Hudson Chernoff (81) is tied for 14th.
In juvenile boys, Connor Spencer (77) is tied for fifth, and Ryan Chernoff (79) is eighth.
Koen Turner (86) is eighth in bantam boys, and Jayden Chernoff (91) is fourth in peewee boys.
Sarah Grave of Saskatoon, competing in the 15-19 girls division, had the best score among the female golfers at 79.
Nearly 60 golfers are entered.
The second and final round will happen Friday at Woodlawn.
