It took 11 ends, but Jason Jacobson finally defeated Josh Heidt’s rink in the Friday morning draw #6 at the SaskTel Tankard at Affinity Place.
After a heavy draw in the 10th end went just through the four foot, Heidt stole one to force the extra end. Jacobson’s hit and stick nearly didn’t stick on his last shot of the 11th end but hung around to count one for the 7-6 win.
In the other matches in draw #6, in the C event, Jeff Hartung defeated Aaron Shutra 8-3 and Daniel Selke defeated Brayden Stewart 9-5. The Shutra and Stewart rinks are now eliminated. In the other B event match Friday morning, Brock Virtue defeated Carl deConinick Smith 7-3.
The draw Friday at noon will have A-side final Flasch against Kendel, B-side semifinalists Laycock versus Casey and Deis against Bitz, and the C-side battle between Gedak and Bryden.
