Laycock to battle Flasch in Tankard final

Steve Laycock’s rink defeated Brock Virtue 7-3 Sunday morning to qualify for the 2018 SaskTel Tankard final at Affinity Place this afternoon. The final goes at 2:30 p.m. with the winner qualifying for next months’ Tim Hortons Brier in Regina.

The final goes at 2:30 p.m. with the winner qualifying for next months’ Tim Hortons Brier in Regina.

Laycock, 35, played a nearly flawless takeout game, only allowing three single points when Virtue had the hammer. Laycock is a former six time provincial champion, including a pair of titles won as Pat Simmons’ lead.

Flasch, 26, was Laycock’s second in his three most recent Tankard wins from 2014-2016.
