Local wrestler represents Saskatchewan at Alberta tourney

Frankie Gawlryluik of the Weyburn Wrestling Club was recently invited by the Saskatoon Junior Huskies Club to represent the Saskatchewan Team at the Stu Hart Tournament of Champions. The tournament was held in Calgary from January 1 to 3.

Frankie Gawlryluik of the Weyburn Wrestling Club featured in the blue singlet, wrestled in the recent International Stu Hart Tournament held in Calgary, Alberta.

Frankie Gawlryluik of the Weyburn Wrestling Club was recently invited by the Saskatoon Junior Huskies Club to represent the Saskatchewan Team at the Stu Hart Tournament of Champions. The tournament was held in Calgary from January 1 to 3. The international tournament brought together the top 16 and 17 year-old female wrestlers in a head-to-head format. Teams from Sweden, United States, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and two teams from Alberta participated in the event, with Team Saskatchewan finishing in sixth place. Gawlryluik, who is 13 years-old, performed five matches in the 60 kg weight class. She continues to wrestle as a second year Bantam wrestler with the Weyburn Wrestling Club, and has eight years of wrestling under her belt.
