Medals won by Eagles volleyball teams at tournaments

A number of volleyball teams from the Weyburn Comp competed in tournaments over the weekend. The junior boys, freshman boys and freshman girls all won gold medals at the tournaments they attended. The Eagles senior boys were in Swift Current.

A number of volleyball teams from the Weyburn Comp competed in tournaments over the weekend. The junior boys, freshman boys and freshman girls all won gold medals at the tournaments they attended.
The Eagles senior boys were in Swift Current. After losses to Fox Valley and Meadow Lake on Friday, the Eagles won their final two round robin games against Saskatoon Centennial and Regina Campbell.
In their first playoff match, the Eagles defeated Oxbow in two sets. However, in their next playoff game, the Eagles came up short against a very strong Balgonie team. This loss ended the tournament for the Eagles.
The Eagles senior boys and senior girls play tonight, October 4, in the Co-op Series against Estevan. The boys game time is 5:30 p.m., while the girls play at 7:30 p.m. Both games will take place in the Eagles Gym at WCS.
The Eagles junior girls competed in a tournament in Moosomin. They placed second in their pool after round robin play and ended up losing to Rocanville in the final 20-25 and 27-29.
The Eagles junior boys competed in a tournament in Moose Jaw at Vanier Collegiate and won the tournament.
The Eagles freshman boys travelled to Yorkton Sacred Heart. They finished first after round robin play. The boys beat Sturgis in the semi finals and then beat Melville in the final to take home the gold.
The Eagles freshman girls were in a tournament in Brandon. The girls placed first overall in the round robin with an 11-1 record. The girls beat the host team, Vincent Massey, in the semi-finals and then beat Portage, Man. in a thrilling three-set final by scores of 14-25, 25-22 and 15-11 to capture gold.
