The South East Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings female hockey team swept their weekend games against Swift Current Wildcats at the Harry O Memorial Arena in Midale, and then defeated the Parkland Fire Wednesday night in Balcarres.
The Goldwings beat the Wildcats 3-1 on Saturday night. Goals were scored by Alyssa Ohrt, Dalis Prawdzik and Marci Leblanc.
Kara Zelyk was in net for the win.
Sunday’s game was a 5-1 victory. The Goldwings had five different scorers, with LeBlanc, Kendra Kotylak, Gracie Hillrud, Brynn Kuntz and Khloe Bedore each notching a goal.
Zelyck was once again in net for the win. The Goldwings outshot Swift Current 49-19.
The Goldwings beat the Parkland Fire 5-2. The Goldwings had a quick start with Gracie Hillrud scoring just 25 seconds into the game. The Fire tied it up late in the first.
Hillrud notched her second goal halfway through the second to make it 2-1. Marci Leblanc got a power play goal late in the second to make it 3-1.
The Fire pulled to within one with 11 minutes left in the game with a power play goal of their own, but Brynn Kuntz got a power play goal and Jaycee McLellan rounded out the scoring.
Mya Battersby picked up the win in goal in her first action of the season for the Goldwings after coming back from an injury. She played half of the game and Kara Zelyck finished of the contest.
The Goldwings, whose record stands at 19-1-1, have clinched the South Division title in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League. The second place Regina Rebels are 10 points back and have just four games remaining.

The South East TS&M midget A Goldwings dropped two straight games in Saskatoon on the weekend.
The first was a 3-1 loss to the Saskatoon Comet Predators. Macy Cugnet scored in the second period to give the Goldwings a 1-0 lead through two periods. But the Predators scored thrice in the final eight minutes of the third to rally for the win.
The next game was a 7-2 loss to the Saskatoon Comet Rush. The two teams were scoreless after the first period, and a 2-1 game through two. Bailey Farr had the Goldwings goal in the second period. The Rush scored five times in the third, and then Neve Stajniak scored for the Wings to round out the scoring.
Aaliyah McLean was in goal for both games.

The South East Bert Baxter Transport bantam A Goldwings were defeated twice on the weekend by the Warman Wildcats.
The first was a 3-1 loss on Jan. 18. Jada Naviaux had the Wings lone goal with six minutes to play in the third period.
Chloe Sorenson was in goal for the game.
The following day they lost 4-1 to the Wildcats. After a scoreless first period, the Wildcats tallied four straight times in the second. Naviaux had the Goldwings lone goal in the third.
J’Anne Colbow was in goal for the Wings.

The Estevan bantam A Bearcats played three times in four days.
The first game was an 8-1 loss to the Balcarres Baraccudas on Jan. 16. Kasenya Einarson had the goal for the Bearcats in the third period.
The following day, they lost 4-3 to the Milestone Flyers. After a scoreless first period, Kallie MacMillan scored to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. The Flyers scored twice before the end of the second, but then Hailey Gardiner and Jaycee Gervais tallied in the third for a 3-2 Estevan lead. The Flyers scored twice in the final six minutes of the game.
The third game was an 8-2 loss to the Regina Cougar Rebels. The Rebels led 4-0 after the first and 7-1 through two. Einarson and Jaycee Gervais scored for the Bearcats.
Emmey Rae was in goal for all three games.

The Estevan Power Dodge peewee Bearcats recorded a 6-4 victory over the Weyburn Gold Wings on Jan. 18.
The Chargers raced out to a 4-1 lead after the first period and led 6-3 in the second before Weyburn rallied.
Gracyn Einarson scored twice for the peewee Bearcats, while Julia Durr, Emma Holzer, Miley Lockerby and Finity Bourassa also scored.
Kiera Barker was in goal for Estevan.
