Miller gets stuffies flying as Bruins beat Broncos

Move over Josh Donaldson, just call Arthur Miller the new bringer of rain.

Move over Josh Donaldson, just call Arthur Miller the new bringer of rain.

A rain of hundreds of teddy bears and other stuffed animals hit the ice at the 17:21 mark of the first period for the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins on Remax Teddy Bear Toss Saturday night at Affinity Place, when Miller scored the first Bruins goal in an eventual 6-3 home ice win over the Humboldt Broncos.

It was Miller's first of two on the night, as TJ Irey, Jake Flethcer, Kaelan Holt and Jayden Davis also notched goals for the Bruins. Maxim Sidelnik stopped 37 of 40 Broncos shots.

The Bruins lost 5-3 Friday night at home against the Battlefords Stars. Jake Tesarowski, Holt, Miller and Matthew Chekay scored the goals for the Bruins that night as Matt Lukacs stopped 23 of 28 shots he faced.

The Bruins head back on the road next week to the Sherwood Division. They play in Nipawin Tuesday, La Ronge Wednesday, Flin Flon Friday and Melfort Saturday. The Bruins' next home game is Wed. Nov. 29 against the Yorkton Terriers.
