OTS golf tournament hits a milestone

If it were a person, it could take early retirement. But either way, it would still end up on a golf course. The Estevan Oilfield Technical Society (OTS) will hold its 60th Annual Golf Tournament June 2-4 at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course.

If it were a person, it could take early retirement. But either way, it would still end up on a golf course.

The Estevan Oilfield Technical Society (OTS) will hold its 60th Annual Golf Tournament June 2-4 at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course.

Conrad Meili, president of the OTS, said, “We’re hoping this event says our industry is coming out of its slumber of the last couple years.”

They are holding to their existing format, which has worked quite well. However, now once you get your registration confirmation email, you can call the golf course to book your tee time instead of waiting until just before the tournament.

Entries are limited to the first 288 paid golfers.

Golfers may choose between 18 or 36 hole events. The 18 hole scores and 36 hole event qualifying round scores must be submitted by 4:00 pm on Saturday. The 36 hole shotgun start is on Sunday.

The entry fee is $180 per golfer. Additional banquet tickets are available for $30 and drink tickets for $5/each. Saturday, June 3, will see the traditional steak and lobster barbecue at the Estevan Curling club.

This year a Calcutta will be held to support the junior golf program. The OTS will be drawing for a golf cart at the banquet this year and you must be in attendance to win.

The OTS golf tournament is a closed event, reserved for people in the oilpatch. Registration information can be found at www.estevanots.com.
