Former Weyburn Red Wing, Rylan Parenteau, who is currently playing for the Prince Albert Raiders, has been one of the hottest goalies in the WHL for the last few weeks. Parenteau has helped win five out of the six games played by the Raiders. The 18-year-old describes how his time spent as a Red Wing has been a major contributing factor to his current success.
"Weyburn was an excellent developmental year for me," acknowledged Parenteau. "It allowed me to move my way up in junior hockey and it allowed me to play with older players."
"By playing so many games, I knew I could be a starter," added Parenteau, who appeared in 41 games with the Red Wings last year. "I gained a lot of confidence through all that."
With his time spent with Weyburn developing a strong base, and the continued hard work  Parenteau puts in, the future looks bright for the young star.
