Peewee Brewers finish with a flourish

The Estevan TS&M peewee AAA Brewers finished their regular season in fine form, winning five of six games that they played from Saturday to Tuesday.

The Estevan TS&M peewee AAA Brewers finished their regular season in fine form, winning five of six games that they played from Saturday to Tuesday.

The Brewers played double-headers against the Swift Current Indians on Saturday at Cactus Park, and won both games convincingly, 8-2 and 23-13.

The following day against the Melville Millionaires, they split the games, winning 9-4 but losing 12-0.

The regular season came to an end Tuesday at the Moose Jaw Canucks. Estevan took the first game 6-1 and the second 16-1.

The peewee Brewers finished the season with a 15-10-1 record. They will play at a tournament in Melville this weekend, and then have league playoffs the next weekend. Provincials are the final weekend in July.

The Estevan bantam Brewers dropped their most recent games, losing 15-5 and 5-0 to the White Butte Broncos on July 5, and 7-6 and 14-5 to the Melville Millionaires on July 6.

The Brewers (2-21-1) will close out the regular season by visiting the Melville Millionaires on July 13.

As for the Southeast A’s, who play out of Alameda, their record stands at 13-10-1 as the regular season conclusion approaches.

In their most recent games, they split a double-header with the Swift Current 57s, losing 6-5 but recovering to win 4-3, and they dropped two against Moose Jaw, 4-3 and 9-5.

The A’s will visit White Butte on July 19 to close out the regular season.
