The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings fell 2-1 to the Broncos tonight in Humboldt.
The game started off rough as the Broncos scored twice not even two minutes into the first period. The two Broncos goals right off the top forced the Red Wings to take their timeout. From there it seemed like the guys were back on their feet.
Taylor Schmidt finally got his team on the board with help from Nick Dobson less than two minutes into the third.
Despite a well fought battle, the Red Wings were unable to put anything more on the board and they took the loss.
Final shots were 37-22 with Joseph Young in net for the Red Wings. Schmidt was awarded the second star of the game.
The Red Wings now travel to Kindersely tomorrow for their second game of their three-game road stretch. The Red Wings and the Klippers take center ice at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.
