The Weyburn Red Wings lost 4-3 to the Notre Dame Hounds in a shootout, during a home game held at Crescent Point Place on Saturday.
During the evening, the Red Wings also recognized their “Goals for KidSport” program, which is a collaboration between the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, the SaskEnergy network and KidSport Saskatchewan.
KidSport Weyburn received $2,710 from the Red Wings for their share of the “Goals for KidSport” program from the 2015-2106 SJHL season.
The Red Wings are still ranked second place in the Viterra division of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, with Estevan in the top spot. However, now only three points separate the Red Wings from both the Melville Millionaires and the Yorkton Terriers, who are in third and fourth respectively.

With the game tied, the teams battled during an overtime period, but neither team were able to score to capture the win.
The game decision came down to the shootout, with both of the players sent up by Notre Dame scoring goals, while the Red Wings were unable to score any goals.
The Red Wings will be in Melville tonight, Nov. 23, for a game against the Millionaires.
