Members of the Estevan Sharks water polo club joined their teammates from around the province to play for Team Sask. in a tournament in Toronto from Nov. 17 to 19.
Four under-14 girls were on the squad, which came away with the gold medal at the Paul Taylor Memorial Tournament. Team Sask. girls won the championship final on Sunday against the host team, the Toronto Mavericks, in a 10-4 decision.
Mikayla Hack and Alex Andrist both scored three goals each in the win, while Katryna Heleta added one goal.
The winning goalie for Team Saskatchewan was Josie Andrist.
On the boys side, Cameron Gillingham represented the Sharks and returned with a bronze medal, after Team Sask. defeated the Kitchener Inferno 11-6. Gillingham had three goals in the bronze medal final.
The Sharks are back in action on Nov. 25 and 26, when they will be competing in tournaments in Toronto.
