There will be a strong southeast flavour at the provincial Scotties next year in Melfort.

The Candace Chisholm rink from Weyburn, which includes Kristy Johnson of Estevan, won the A side at the Viterra Provincial Qualifier at the Power Dodge Curling Centre Saturday afternoon.

Chisholm’s rink defeated the Stefanie Lawton rink from Saskatoon 10-7 in the final. The rink includes third Lana Vey from Regina and second Natalie Bloomfield. With the win, the quartet will be at the provincial Scotties in Melfort Jan. 2-8 with their coach, Gerry Adam.

The B side final is set for Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
