Southeast College is busy making preparations for its 19th annual Weyburn Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament. All proceeds from the tournament are matched by the Ministry of Advanced Education through the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship program and help support scholarships for post-secondary students attending Southeast College.
Swing for Scholarships will be held at the Weyburn Golf Club on Friday, September 8 and the entry fee is $125 per person, which includes 18-holes of golf in best-ball format, a power cart, a delicious barbecue dinner, and a tournament gift. Additional prize raffles and a 50/50 draw will be held. Tournament sponsorship is also available, which is another great way to participate in this worthy cause.
The past three years in particular have been quite successful for the Swing for Scholarships, having added tournament dates in Estevan and Moosomin. During that time period, Southeast College students have benefitted with over $196,000 in scholarships from proceeds raised and matched at Swing for Scholarships events.
“These tournaments are popular events in the golfing calendar and have continued to grow each year,” said Dave Harazny, Manager of College Advancement. “This is a great way for the community to support post-secondary education in southeast Saskatchewan and we are very grateful for everyone’s participation.”
A new feature for golfers this year is to register and pay by credit card online. The tournament fills quickly, so interested golfers should register their team as early as possible. For entry or sponsorship information, interested businesses and organizations can contact Dave Harazny at [email protected], Faye Billington at [email protected] or register online at: www.southeastcollege.org/event/2017weyburnswing/.
