Weyburn Synchro Stars announced that Savannah Pohl and Alexis Vandermey, both senior athletes with the club, have qualified for the Synchro Saskatchewan High Performance Development Team.
The Development Team is a new provincial program initiative that identifies, develops, and provides additional training hours/skill development for high performance athletes.
This team is composed of the top eight athletes eligible for the 2019 Canada Winter Games. These athletes must have qualified for the 2016/2017 HP Development and Excellence Programs.
The team will be attending a three day training camp August 27th to 29th in Saskatoon where they will begin to learn the Canada Games routine and receive specialized training.
Both Savannah and Alexis will be competing provincially in the 16-18yr category this season, and will be also be striving to be named to the 2017 South-East Connection, Sask. Winter Games team. They are coached in Weyburn by Tracey Rothwell.
