Top teams clash in Big Six Hockey League

A total of 34 pucks hit the back of the net Friday in Big Six Hockey League games, but the arenas fell silent the rest of the Remembrance Day weekend. 
It got back going again Tuesday when the Carnduff Red Devils played the Bienfait, Coalers, with two previously undefeated teams at the top of the standings battling it out. 
The Red Devils scored five times in the first period on their way to a 6-2 victory. Each team scored in the opening minute, with Mark Moriarty scoring for Carnduff and Dallas Kickley for Bienfait.

Carnduff would get goals by Justin Perry, Blake McMillen, and two from Nico Anderson before the period was out. Matt Bourassa scored for Bienfait before the end of the first.

The two teams were scoreless in the second, and Perry scored the lone goal in the third.

Friday, Bienfait took care of business with an 8-4 win over the Oxbow Huskies in Oxbow. Seven different marksmen hit the net for the Coalers, with Dallas Kickley scoring two goals and three assists. Other scorers were Levi Kress, Blaine Herzberg, Keegan Malaryk, Dylan Herzberg, Wyatt Garagan and Preston Erickson. Oxbow’s scorers were Derek Cooney, with a pair, Bryson Mayer and Klae Baeda. 
The Carnduff Red Devils went to Midale and blanked the Mustangs. Cody Dumaine picked up the goose egg in net for Carnduff, while five different goal scorers put the puck in the Midale net. Brandon Trask, Nico Anderson, Mark Moriarty, Justin Perry and Cody Moore scored for Carnduff. 
The Redvers Rockets played a tight game with the Carlyle PureChem Cougars, edging the Cougars 3-2. Brady Gaudet’s goal early in the third period stood up for Redvers. Also scoring for the Rockets were Jordan Miller and Drew Hoff. Billy Greenwood and Mason Belanger replied for Carlyle. 
The Wawota Flyers defeated the Arcola/Kisbey Combines in a close 7-5 battle. Derek Frater had a hat trick in the game for Wawota, who also got goals from Devin Stewart, Linden Poirer, Ryan Taylor and Taylor Ernst. Arcola/Kisbey got goals from Jeff Houston, Brady Third, Walker Hengen, Rhett Palmer and Kendall Oliver. 
There are two games Friday, with Bienfait travelling to Carlyle and the battle of the slashes with Kipling/Windthorst heading to Arcola/Kisbey. Three games Saturday are Midale at Yellow Grass, Carlyle at Carnduff and Kipling/Windthorst at Oxbow. Sunday’s lone game is Yellow Grass at Arcola/Kisbey.
