Estevan’s Cole Fonstad and Brayden Pachal scored for the Prince Albert Raiders in the first period of Monday night’s game against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the Memorial Cup in Halifax, N.S.
The Huskies scored the first goal of the game 4:34 into the first period, but Fonstad tied the game less than four minutes later on a wrap-around.
Then, just over five minutes later, Pachal pinched in from the point and fired a puck past the Huskies goalie to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies scored before the end of the first period to tie the game at twos.
Rouyn-Noranda scored midway through the second to take the lead, but Noah Gregor responded a few minutes later to tie the game. Fonstad notched an assist on Gregor's goal.
The Huskies scored three times in the final five minutes of the game for the victory.
The Raiders will play the Guelph Storm tomorrow night in their final game of the round robin.
