The SRCA Provincial Finals were held in Moose Jaw on Sept. 17-19. There was 10 clubs from all across Saskatchewan in attendance, and Weyburn’s local Sun Country Riding Club had 12 members competing, with member Charlize Hallberg winning the title as the SRCA Queen.
Members were able to go to provincials if they were high point or runner-up in their respective age groups from competing at the local rides.

In Junior C, Emma Winters was fourth in equitation. The Junior C class was a large one with 17 riders, and Emma was lucky enough to be called back in for pleasure (class was split) so was in the top eight.
In Junior A, Charlize Hallberg had no placings. In intermediate Rose Debogorski placed first in the intermediate reining and fourth in pleasure (another big class of 17 riders). Molly Mason had no placings.

For Senior Men, Bob Brydon placed third in barrels and quads and second in poles. Charlize Hallberg also represented the Sun Country Riding Club in the King/Queen contest. This involved gaining sponsorships, volunteer hours in the local community, helping out during finals, and being judged on horsemanship knowledge.
The sponsorship gained through the king/Queen contest is vital to putting the provincial show on. Charlize was announced SRCA 2021 Queen on the third day. With all her hard work she came home with a brand new saddle.
