The Weyburn Red Wings are beginning their training camp on the long weekend and are in need of billets.
"We need five permanent billets by the long weekend," said Val Tribiger, billet organizer for the team.
Two of these boys need pet free homes.
Becoming a billet is like extending your family. The Tribiger's know this from 14 years of experience with billeting.
"The best part about it is the people you meet. The kids and their parents have been wonderful," said Larry Tribiger. "The friendships and the phone calls, years later from billets are unreal."
Jordan Weibel, who played with the Red Wings in 2004, and stayed with the Tribiger's, calls every holiday season to wish them a merry Christmas.
The couple get baby announcements, wedding invitations as well as surprise visits from many of their previous billets.
"It's like an extended family."
The Red Wing organization pay billets $375 per month, plus billets get one season ticket for every boy staying with them.
The billet commitment begins August 29 and continues through the 2014-15 season.
