Weyburn (the horse) placed a close second in the Pegasus Stakes that was run on June 13 at Monmouth Parkin Oceanport, New Jersey.
Ridden by Dylan Davis, Weyburn led most of the race, which covered a mile and a half on the dirt.
Favoured Mandaloun caught and passed Weyburn with one and a half furlongs to go and held in, winning by a neck or .05 seconds.
Weyburn’s owner is from Grenfell and Weyburn is one of several horses in Chiefswood Stables that are named for Saskatchewan towns and cities.
