Seven wrestlers from the Weyburn Wrestling Club attended the first trial for the 2015 Western Canada Games in Regina on December 14.
After an afternoon of wrestling, Nathan Bradley 115 kg weight class, Aaron Hemphill 50 kg male weight class, Carter Barrett 58 kg male weight class, Tyler Fleming 63kg male weight class and Frankie Gawryluik 61 kg female weight class were ranked first in their respective weight classes. Katelyn Franklin 57 kg female weight class and Ryan Verbeem 69 kg male weight class were ranked second in their classes.
The second and final trial will take place in Regina in the spring of 2015 with the winners representing Saskatchewan at the Western Canada Games in Fort McMurray, AB in August 2015.
