The Yellow Grass Wheat Kings have a two-game lead in the quarterfinals for the Big Six Hockey League playoffs.
The Wheat Kings won 5-3 over Carnduff on Feb. 9, and then claimed a 5-2 victory on Feb. 12.
The third game of the best-of-five series will be held in Yellow Grass tonight, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m.
If needed, Yellow Grass heads back to Carnduff on Friday, Feb. 17, and game five will be held in Yellow Grass on Sunday, Feb. 19.
Yellow Grass was ranked second in the west division after the regular season, while Carnduff was ranked third in the east division.
The Midale Mustangs lost their first game against Wawota in their best-of-five quarterfinal playoffs. Game two will be held in Midale tonight, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. Game three will be in Wawota on Friday, Feb. 17. If needed, game four is in Midale on Saturday, Feb. 18 and game five is in Wawota on Monday, Feb. 20.
Midale was ranked third in the west division after the regular season, while Wawota was ranked second in the east division.
Bienfait, the first-place ranked team in the west division, has a two game lead over Oxbow, who was ranked fourth in the east division.
Redvers, the first-place ranked team in the east division, had a one-game lead over Carlyle, ranked fourth in the west.
At the Saskatchewan Hockey Association provincial level, Milestone beat Bienfait 5-2 in the Senior A south quarterfinal during game three on Monday evening to win their series.
Bienfait had won 2-1 in overtime during a game on Jan. 27, then Milestone claimed a 4-1 victory on Feb. 10.
