Cheers and Jeers for Oct. 19

Cheers to Tim Pippus from the Estevan Church of Christ for all of his wonderful words in his biweekly faith column. Cheers to Corey Atkinson’s column in the Oct. 10 Mercury.

Cheers to Tim Pippus from the Estevan Church of Christ for all of his wonderful words in his biweekly faith column.

Cheers to Corey Atkinson’s column in the Oct. 10 Mercury. This article speaks to so much to what’s wrong with acceptance for inappropriate or plain old illegal behaviour in politics and society in general.

Cheers to all the vehicles left in the parking lot at the Black Grasshopper after their customer appreciation night on the weekend. Even though there have still been impaired drivers in the news, it’s great to see how many do choose not to drink and drive.

Cheers to the City of Estevan for painting traffic lines on the roads one last time before winter. The lines were starting to be pretty faded.

Cheers to the farmers in the Estevan area for the patience they have shown during this year’s harvest. The last few weeks have been really tough.

Jeers to the legalization of cannabis on Wednesday. The process has been rushed and flawed, and a little more time to iron out some of the kinks would have paid off.

Jeers to people who don’t put the weights away when they’re finished with them in the gym. Some people struggle to lift the 45-pound plates.

Jeers to people who insist of taking up two stalls in the parking lot with their vehicles. Other people need those parking spots.

Jeers to motorists who block driveways of businesses while waiting for trains on Kensington Avenue. You wouldn’t like it if someone blocked the driveway of your home or business. Why do the same?

Jeers to those who feel the need to vandalize Halloween decorations. Some people take a lot of pride in their decorations. And it discourages other people from decorating their yards.
