There were plenty of changes on the leaderboards in almost all the age groups after Wednesday’s second round at the 2025 Saskatchewan Junior Championships in Lloydminster.

Aricin Franklin of Saskatoon is the new men’s leader in the under-19 and under-17 age divisions after shooting a 2-under par 70 at the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre.

Franklin was one of only two players to shoot under par in round two, Matty Schmiess of Swift Current was the other. The 16-year-old Franklin jumped over Ryan Mosher and Ethan Hunter for the overall championship lead.

Both Mosher and Hunter shot 70 in Tuesday’s opening round; however, Mosher carded a 3-over par 75 to enter the final round in second, while Hunter shot a 4-over par 76 and now sits third going into Thursday’s championship round.

There is a new leader in the under-15 men’s age category. Keaton Kreklewich of Melville is now on top after his age group's best 74 in round two. First-round leader Austin Nesbitt is still within striking distance, two shots back. The Pilot Butte product followed a 75 on day one with a 7-over par 79 on Wednesday. Thomas Pilon of Saskatoon is in third place going into the final round; he’s 13-over par.

There are two under-13 players in the boys' event. Hudson Deibert will take a five-shot lead into the final round over Cohen Bridge of Saskatoon.

Meanwhile, Grace Odnokon of Saskatoon stole the show in the Junior Women’s Championship on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old shot an impressive 3-over par 75 in round two, putting herself into a two-shot lead going into the final 18 holes in Lloydminster.

Odnokon also leads the under-17 age division; she’s 11 shots up on Yoyo Zhu and Yuna Lee.

Zhu is the under-15 leader, the only division to not see a lead change. Alyxa Melsted of Wynyard remains in second in the division.

The final round of the 75th Junior Women’s Championship will begin with the first group at 11:10 a.m. The final group featuring Odnokon, Wills, and Tayla Perry tee off 12 p.m.

The final seven groups of junior men chasing the under-19 championship will begin teeing off at 12:10 p.m.

The last group with Franklin, Mosher, and Hunter will start their quest for a junior title in the 99th year of the event at 1:10 p.m.
