SASKATCHEWAN 4, QUEBEC 3

Lucas Geisler went a perfect three for three at the plate to lead Team Saskatchewan as they opened up their 2025 Canadian Men’s Baseball Championships in Regina with a 4-3 win over Quebec on Thursday afternoon at Currie Field.

Saskatchewan jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the top of the first inning. Dylan Solie drove in the opening run with a groundout before Geisler followed with a sharp single down the left-field line to bring home another. An inning later, Tom Hooker added insurance with a single to center, making it 3-0.

Joel Bauml also chipped in with two hits for the Saskatchewan reps.

On the mound, left-hander Rhett Feser was steady for Saskatchewan going a complete seven innings while allowing nine hits and three runs. He struck out six and walked just one.

Quebec starter Connor Angel kept his team in the game, striking out seven over five and a third innings, while yielding three runs—only one of them earned—on five hits.

Quebec collected nine hits with Jonathan Martin and Moises Perez-Infante each finishing with two.

Saskatchewan will continue round-robin play Friday at 10AM against Ontario 2 before battling New Brunswick at 4:00 PM.

REGINA TRAPPERS (HOST) 7, NOVA SCOTIA 1

The host Regina Trappers opened strong at the Men’s Baseball National Championships, defeating Nova Scotia 7-1 on Thursday at Currie Field.

Nova Scotia struck first with an RBI single from Jack Fader in the top of the first, but Saskatchewan quickly tied the game on a Cole Bauml single. A fielder’s choice from Jordan Dezotell put the hosts ahead in the second, and they never looked back.

Griffin Keller’s two-run home run in the fourth inning gave Saskatchewan breathing room, while Dylan Edmands added a solo shot and Kendall Keller drove in another run in the fifth.

Starting pitcher Kody Rock was sharp, giving up just one run on seven hits through seven innings while striking out seven.

Fader paced Nova Scotia with two hits and the team’s only run batted in. Starter Anthony McKinley allowed six runs over five innings.

Saskatchewan continues play Friday against Alberta at 1:00 PM before taking on Manitoba in the night cap at 7:00 PM.
