Saskatchewan Valkyries take on the Regina Riot

The Saskatoon Valkyries won their first 2025 Western Women’s Canadian Football League game over their provincial rivals, the Regina Riot, 17-7 at Saskatoon Minor Football Field on Saturday night.

The loss drops the Riot’s record to 0-2 on the young season.

The Saskatoon offence’s ability to move the ball was key to its victory. The Valkyries racked up 325 yards of total offence while only surrendering 180 yards to Regina.

Individually, for Saskatoon, Teagan Craig ran in both majors for the Valkyries in the first and fourth quarters, from 15- and 20-yard out. The lone major score for the Riot was a 12-yard run to the end zone by Bethany O’Toole.

Regina is back in action on Sunday, May 18, at Leibel Field, when it hosts the Manitoba Fearless in its home opener.
