Team Sask opens week two at Canada Games with four medals

Saskatchewan athletes have opened the second week of the Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland with four medals.

Divers Lila Stewart and Isa Koop opened their competition on Tuesday evening by capturing gold and silver in the Women's Artistic Dive event. After five dives, Stewart was on top of the standings, scoring 221.70 points; Koop's final score was 198.15.

In the meantime,  Athletics Canada 2025 U20 National Champion Nathan Pinno in the men's Shot Put. The University of Saskatchewan Huskie threw 16.48m to land the silver medal. In the evening session, David Lipton’s throws scored 421 points to land silver in the men’s Para Shot Put.

Unfortunately, rain delayed female baseball and male softball on Tuesday. However, a better forecast on Wednesday should allow those competitions to continue.
