The Weyburn Beavers split their first two games of the Western Major Baseball League season.Weyburn scored three times in the sixth inning to win 5-4 on the road over the Moose Jaw Millers on May 31 in the Beavers' first game of the season.

The Weyburn Comprehensive, Junior High and St. Michael's Schools competed at the Southeast District Athletic Association track and field competition in Weyburn on May 28.

The Weyburn Beavers will offer baseball tips to young players in the Weyburn area during a pair of three-day clinics. The first will be from July 13 to 15 and the other will run from July 20 to 22. Both clinics will be at Tom Laing Park.

Weyburn's In Motion committee is promoting an event for groups that are interested in fun and getting active.

Several members of the Weyburn Synchro Stars competed at the MASY Challenge in Saskatoon from May 27 to 30. Haley Wiberg, Rachel Ryan and Keisha Mowchenko entered the Tier 3 figure event. Wiberg finished with a score of 52.625; Ryan had a 52.

ECS students finish second in senior boys, girls and team divisions

It was going to take more than a little wind and rain for the Estevan Trap Club to have to cancel a Saskatchewan Amateur Trapshooting Association registered event over the weekend.

Even though they both occupy the bottom of the Queen City Minor Box Lacrosse League midget standings, the Estevan Devils and Moose Jaw Mustangs might just be the most exciting matchup in the league.
