Mounties in Manitoba have ended their search of the Nelson River in the ongoing search for B.C. murder suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky.

Police are scaling down their search for Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky in northern Manitoba, and aren't ruling out whether the teen fugitives have fled the area, or are dead.

Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are still at large and wanted in the deaths of three people on Northern B.C. highways. The SUV they were last seen driving was found torched and abandoned near Gillam, Manitoba, on Monday, July 22, Manitoba RCMP said.

A cross-country manhunt is underway for two Vancouver Island teens considered suspects in the murders of two young, international tourists on the Alaska Highway, as well as the death of a man on Highway 37 near Dease Lake last week.
