Team Saskatchewan ready to shine at PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games

Athletes at the Canada Games represent the next generation of national, international, and Olympic and Paralympic champions.

REGINA - They say when you look good, you play good.

If that's the case, Team Saskatchewan's confidence should be high entering the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games. The uniform kit designed for Team Sask athletes and support staff to wear during the games was unveiled on February 11.

The kit includes:

  • Green jacket with beautiful white Team Saskatchewan logo on the chest and PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games logo on the left sleeve.
  • Under Armour long sleeve heatgear shirt. The white shirt features a bold "Team Sask" logo across the chest.
  • Black joggers feature "SASK" down the calf.
  • Knit toque and mitts. Mitts feature "Team Sask" logo with a touch of yellow while toque has the games logo on the front and "SASK" featured above on the top.
  • Team Sask bunnyhug - featuring Saskatchewan flag on the front pouch, "Team Sask" logo across the chest and the PEI Games logo on the left sleeve. 
  • Shield of Arms Tee - a green tee shirt that features the Saskatchewan Shield of Arms across the chest.
  • Team Sask Backpack - Black with a touch of yellow across the top and green on the bottom. The Saskatchewan Prairie Lily is featured prominently  on the side and recognition for Team Saskatchewan's sponsors is also present on the front of the bag.

The games begin with the opening ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 18 and conclude with the closing ceremony on Mar. 5.

Athletes who compete at the Canada Games represent the country’s next generation of national, international, and Olympic and Paralympic champions. Team Sask alumni Mark McMorris, Emily Clark, Rylan Wiens, Shelby Newkirk, Kenzie Priddell, Catriona LeMay Doan, Graham Fish and Brittany Hudak to name a few, can all count their previous Canada Games experiences as a stepping stone to the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

Team Sask will consist of a total of 317 athletes, coaches, managers, and support staff and will participate in all 20 Canada winter games sports.
