The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed March 14-20, 2021, as Agricultural Safety Week in Saskatchewan.

“Agricultural Safety Week provides the opportunity to remind everyone that agriculture safety matters year round, on and off the farm,” Agriculture Minister David Marit said. “Physical and mental health are of the utmost importance and everyone must do their part to ensure we are all able to return home to our loved ones at the end of each day.”

“Using safety precautions year round is incredibly important to ensure that those who work on a farm return home safely,” Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan said. “Having safe farms in our province will help us continue to grow our agri-food exports here in Saskatchewan and build stronger families and communities.”

Saskatchewan recognizes Canadian Agricultural Safety Week annually in conjunction with the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association. Canadian Agricultural Safety Week is focused on helping producers, families and communities lead the agricultural industry in safety and sustainability.

This year's theme, Lead an Ag Safe Canada, is the second of a three-year farm safety campaign; Safe and Strong Farms. This year, virtual AgSafe ribbons are available for download from the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association website.
