Wildlife Federation rep brings furs, antlers to the Family Place

Dale Paslawski of the Weyburn Wildlife Federation brought out his collection of furs, skins and antlers to the Family Place on March 5, giving a presentation to two different groups of children. He had a selection that included fox, bear, deer, coyotes and wolves, among others, and antlers and horns from a variety of animals including moose and deer.

The Fifth Weyburn Scouts troop held their annual Kub Kar races on Saturday, with judging at noon and races afterward. They received support from the Weyburn Wildlife Federation for the pizza lunch for the parents and families who attended.

Instructor Sherry Klemmer taught two classes on how to create Ukrainian Easter eggs, at the Weyburn Public Library on Saturday. She took them step-by-step through the process of drawing a design, and dying the eggs in layers before ending with the final product.

Day camp, swimming provided for February break in Weyburn

Weyburn and area children were able to take part in the February Break Camp at the Credit Union Spark Centre, from Feb. 20-23, plus families had free swimming available on Wednesday and Friday afternoon, sponsored by CUPE. The camp had a variety of recreational and art-craft activities each day during the week.

A wide variety of activities were available for Weyburn residents on Family Day Monday, with free swimming and skating, and activities at the Credit Union Spark Centre. There was an opportunity for children to meet the Paw Patrol, make bracelets, get their face painted, and to take part in demos for lacrosse and softball through the afternoon.

Over-50 curlers win first-ever Turner Cup for Weyburn Curling RInk

The Weyburn Curling Rink held their first-ever Turner Cup competition, pitting the over-50 team against the under-50 team, and the over-50 curlers emerged as the winners on Saturday. The team was captained by Bruce Miller, while the under-50 team was captained by Ryan Skjerdal.
